Last week, our CAD designs came to life as our fuselage design was cut to perfection by one of CNC Design's quality machines.
After a hard nights work, the team used their new new fuselage mold to complete the first fuselage layup for 2014.
Two days later, we all held our breath and hoped the mold would separate as successfully as we wanted. With a few helping hands, the mold sprung open to reveal a beautifully finished fuselage. Success!
And now the hard work really begins!
Stay tuned for some exciting updates as our team prepares for the first test flight of 'Vision', our airframe for the 2014 Outback Rescue Challenge.
The Monash UAS team travelled to RAAF Base Williams in Point Cook as part of the celebrations for the Centenary of Military Aviation Air Show. The show comprised of static and flying displays with aircraft ranging from a replica Bristol Boxkite and Supermarine Spitfires to the F/A-18 Super Hornets and C-17 Globemaster.
