As well as the Outback Search and Rescue Challenge, the Monash UAS team was involved in many events within the university. This began early in the year, with the 2012 competition aircraft on display at the Orientation week stalls.
Following this, for the first time in 2014, UAS team members were able to gain credit for Design I, a compulsory engineering design unit at Monash University. This allowed the work of team members to contribute both to the team and to their course progression.
Also during the year, Spark Engineering Camp brought high school students to our workshop, where they discovered the opportunities we offer to students.
Open Day provided us with the chance to showcase the team to future students, potential team members and the wider community. Our workshop was a highlight of the Mechanical Engineering Tour, with every tour group passing through, ensuring that it was crowded the whole day.
Later in the year, the Monash UAS team formed part of the ENGenuITy presentation, which encourages girls in high school to pursue science, information technology and engineering at university.
